Strategic Hiring Strategy

The CDDA strategic cluster hires will be made in two phases in order to create an infrastructure of mentoring and intellectual support to ensure the successful recruitment, retention, and advancement of leading-edge scholars.

Phase one focuses on three tenured faculty in the areas of Cultural Rhetoric, Literary Studies, and Digital History. These faculty will join an innovative group of faculty at MSU leading scholarship and pedagogy where the digital arts and humanities intersect with questions of race, inclusion, cultural preservation, social justice, global interconnectedness, and engaged scholarship. 




Phase 2Critical Diversity phase 2

A second phase of cluster hiring into the tenure stream during the 2017-18 academic year will be designed to strategically expand the scope of Phase 1 and deepen the strength of the CDDA.  CEDAR will develop a strategic plan that will shape Phase 2 in conversation with colleagues working across the digital arts and humanities at Michigan State University.
