I truly believe that we learn the most about ourselves and others in the most abnormal of circumstances.

My primary role as the Community Health Advisor is to consult with MSU’s international students, scholars and their families on the available health services options they have as non-immigrants in the United States. My job also consists of presenting healthcare workshops on campus, statewide and nationally for international educators and immigration professionals. I also have the pleasure of serving as a health consultant in Cusco where I travel to various clinics in the region to provide research-based support in improving preventive care and clinical services for underrepresented populations in Peru.

Being a GSAH major has provided me with a unique cultural and
social global perspective, thus yielding for me a strong voice within
the international community. My academic training in the program
has shaped the context in which I work and how I view our increasingly globalized society, and for this I could not be more grateful to the amazing faculty, administrators and staff within the College of Arts
& Letters.

I truly believe that we learn the most about ourselves and others in the
most abnormal of circumstances. Don’t be afraid to try something new,
as we can only grow from each experience!
