The College of Arts and Letters leads the way in study abroad.

MSU is a national leader in study abroad. It sends more students abroad each year than any other public university. More than 200 programs are offered throughout the world.

Within MSU, the College of Arts and Letters leads the way in this essential area of education and learning, setting the pace both in number and scope of programs and in the percentage of its students who participate. It is the primary sponsor of programs in 25 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North and South America. Programs range in length from two to six weeks to a semester or full academic year, and they are offered during each session, including winter and spring break.

More than 40 percent of Arts and Letters students have completed a Study Abroad program by the time they graduate—the second highest percentage of any college at MSU (after James Madison College).

The College of Arts and Letters Study Abroad Coordinator can help students find the Study Abroad program that fits their interests and academic needs. Programs are available that meet University writing and integrative studies requirements, count toward the language requirement, contribute to cognate or specialization requirements, or apply to majors. Scholarships and other forms of financial assistance are available.
